This is a prayer for the hurting.
For the ones who are crying out to Jesus when the world sleeps but your mind is wide awake. May we surrender our tears and guard our hearts.
I wrote this poem one morning after a restless night. Guarding my heart means making sure my pain and tears do not lead me into bitterness. Sometimes when I allow my emotions to control me, I end up isolating myself from others and God’s purpose for my life. When we turn towards God in our pain, we allow him to comfort us in ways that only he can.
?You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle. Psalm 56:8
❤️ Guard your heart with all diligence, for from it flow springs of life. Proverbs 4:23
? Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. Psalm 126:5
?? Test me, Lord, and try me, examine my heart and mind. Psalm 26:2
Perhaps you are going through a difficult time. If you are in need of prayer, I would be happy to pray for you. Just type your request in the comments. God sees you. He loves you. He’s near.
Valerie, this is so good and much needed right now. Life has been overwhelming and if we don’t guard our hearts, the enemy can take us down the road of anger and bitterness and we will be in a far worse state. Thank you for this beautiful post!
You’re so welcome. I’m researching what the Bible says about guarding our hearts and looking forward to writing a post about it.
Dear sis in Christ please pray for our marriage restoration and healing for my husband of cancer. This is very painful and my Lord has seen the buckets of tears I have shed for his healing and our for our restoration
Thank you and God bless youb
Oh sweet Lisa, That probably feels like a confusing place to be in. I’m so sorry for your pain.
Dear Lord, You see the pain Lisa and her husband are enduring with cancer. You see the pain in the relationship and Lisa’s broken heart. Lord, minister to Lisa and her husband. Give them wisdom to know how to face their situation. Help them through the confusion and stress that’s piled on top of relationship struggles. Make a way for them. Uphold them. Take care of them. I pray against the enemy and all lies. May your truth shine through. Give Lisa your hope and peace to hold onto. Lord, YOU make the darkness tremble. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Please pray for marriage restoration for me and my husband Michael . That the lord will restore my family better than it was before. That the Lord will heal our hurting hearts. In Jesus name
Heavenly Father,
Lord, you see Kimberly and Michael and you know their exact situation. Lord, I pray that your Holy Spirit would work in each of their hearts. May they each turn towards you to meet their needs so that they can meet the needs of their spouse. May you fill them with your love, joy, and peace. Give them wisdom to know what areas need to change and how to change them. Break unhealthy cycles in Jesus Name. Comfort and restore and heal Father. Give them willing hearts. When our hearts are both willing you can work in mighty ways. Thank you Father. Thank you for helping those in need. You hear. You care. You hold them.
Thank you, Valerie, for that beautiful poem. I have cried many tears through the night since December. My husband recieved a miracle liver transplant on Dec 22. The process for healing is coming slow and he has been in and out of the hospital since his initial release. He has Covid and Norovirus right now and is in hospital. I am unable to go see him since he is on isolation floor. He is pretty down, so if you could pray for the Holy Spirit to embrace him. Remind him of good things from Gods word.. Thank you and God bless you! And thank you for your encouragement…this has been a very lonley time, so to have things like yours come through my email helps me a lot!
Oh dear Mary, I’m so sorry. A year ago my husband was sick with a Staph infection which spread to his heart and brain and was in the hospital for a month. It didn’t look good for him. I cried out to Jesus throughout the night when I felt the dread and the terror of losing him. My prayers are with you. Dear Jesus, even when it seems like doctors don’t know what to do and things keep going downhill, you know what is happening. You are in control. Give the doctors wisdom to know how to treat Mary’s husband. Heal him from Covid. Open his lungs. Protect his liver, in Jesus Name. They’ve been through so much already. Bring nurses and doctors into his room who love you and will minister to him. Comfort him with your presence. Give Mary your unexplainable peace. Provide for her through others. Show them your love like you do in so many special ways. Thank you for being near us in the darkest of times.
When my husband was sick I repeated the words to this song over and over again, “Jesus, Jesus you make the darkness tremble. Jesus, Jesus you silence fear.” https://youtu.be/jo-fcUmIO2E
