Stuff I’d Only Tell God by Jennifer Dukes Lee is a guided journal designed to help you be ruthlessly honest so you can see the real you hiding behind layers of self-protection. This book guides readers with questions, lists, charts, and illustrations to discover who you are and how much God loves you.
To start, Lee encourages readers to be honest and compassionate with themselves. The journal has seven sections. Each section takes you on a journey through your past, present, or future.
I loved the clever and creative activities to help you think about your life. Some of my favorite ones were:
- The Ups and Downs graph, where you chart the decades of your life and input the ups and downs
- Writing a letter to your “ten years ago self.”
- Your Life, In Just Six Words
- This or That
- Facing Your Fears
- Conversations With Jesus
- Procrastination Station
I’ve kept journals and prayer diaries since I was a young girl. I’ve never tried one that included such thoughtful exercises like this one. It would be great if the pages were wider and spiral bound to make writing easier.
I received Stuff I’d Only Tell God from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
